Williams was a successful receiver at the University of Washington, so new Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has familiarity with him.

The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Williams in 2004. He totaled 189 passes in five seasons with the team, but ran into legal trouble multiple times. He was not in the NFL in 2009.

Williams is reasonably young (will turn 27 on May 17) and big (6-foot-4), so this seems like a low-risk move for the Seahawks.

Williams caught 38 passes for 629 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2007.
