The Renton girls basketball team fell to Tyee 60-50 Wednesday.
The Indians (1-2 overall, 1-1 Seamount) fell behind early, and could never catch up. Tyee led 38-22 at the half.
Tia Bryant scored 12 points to lead the Indians. LaRelle Hill scored 11. Taylor Farris, Klarissa Quintas and P.J. Tuiasosopo each scored nine points.
Hazen 77, Evergreen 55
Hazen built an 18-point lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 77-55 win against Evergreen.
The Highlanders (2-1, 2-1) got 41 points from Airashay Rogers. Rogers made 18 of 24 shots from the floor and added 13 steals, four blocks and nine rebounds. Rogers is averaging 34 points per game in the young season.
Michelle Wnek scored 12 for the Highlanders. She picked up 10 steals and eight rebounds. Hazen totaled 36 steals and is averaging 24.3 steals per game this season.
Lindbergh 42, Highline 28
Lindbergh’s defense won out as the Eagles beat Highline 42-28 Tuesday.
Lindbergh (1-3, 1-2) held the Pirates to just eight second-half points.
Emily Graver led the way for the Eagles with 19 points, 15 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Graver is averaging a double-double with 13.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
Liberty 58, Mercer Island 53
In yet another close game, Liberty beat Mercer Island 58-53 Thursday.
It’s the third straight game decided by five points or fewer for the Patriots (4-2, 3-1 KingCo 3A/2A).
Danni Sjolander scored 25 points to lead Liberty. Halie Ericksen added 14. Sjolander is averaging 16.8 points per game this year.
