Girls Soccer: Renton wins while Hazen, Lindbergh and Liberty fall

Mount Rainier 6, Hazen 2

Hazen ran into a tough Mount Rainier team and lost 6-2 Sept. 24.

The Highlanders (3-2 overall, 3-2 Seamount) got goals from Kayla Hackman (unassisted) and Alex Devereux (Hackman assist) in the game.

Renton 6, Tyee 1

Renton didn’t leave much doubt in a 6-1 win against Tyee Sept. 24.

The Indians (1-3, 1-3) got two goals each from Biona Harrington and Rose Lindsey. Zhane Turner and Miranda Tamnkang also scored.

Kennedy Catholic 4, Liberty 2

Liberty allowed two late goals and fell 4-2 to Kennedy Catholic Saturday night.

The Patriots (0-5-2 overall, 0-1-2 KingCo) got a goal from Kimi Fry (assist by Sara DuVall) at the 55-minute mark to tie the game 2-2.

But Kennedy’s Kirsten Olson (Rebekah Kurle) and Jenna Bojorquez (Shey Thommasen) scored later the provide the Lancers’ the winning margin.

Kailiana Johnson (Kiana Hafferty) scored Liberty’s first goal of the game five minutes in, which tied the score 1-1.

Kennedy Catholic 5, Lindbergh 0

Kennedy Catholic beat Lindbergh 5-0 Sept. 24 for the Eagles first loss of the season.

The game was also Lindbergh’s (3-1-1, 3-1-1) first time being shutout this year.
