Hazen, Liberty stay unbeaten in league play; Renton ties Evergreen; Lindbergh falls to Kennedy | Soccer

Kennedy Catholic 5, Lindbergh 0

Lindbergh dropped to third place in the Seamount after losing to Kennedy Catholic 5-0 Tuesday.

The Eagles (3-3-1 overall, 3-2-1 Seamount) fell behind early in the first half when Rebekah Kurle nailed a penalty kick.

Kurle, Kirsten Olson, Alexa Diaz and Madelin Dailey added goals later in the game.

Hazen 7, Foster 0

Hazen piled up its fourth league shutout with a 7-0 win against Foster Tuesday.

Hazen (5-0-2, 4-0-1) seniors Kayla Hackman and Katelyn Mellinger each had hat tricks, while freshman Brianne Sherin also scored.

Hackman is now leading the Seamount in scoring for the second season in a row.

“Kayla led the league in scoring last year,” said Hazen coach Ken Matthews. “She has adapted her game to the style of play we’re using this year which has made it harder for her to get big goal scoring games. So it is great to see her back up there in the lead.”

Renton 2, Evergreen 2

Renton pulled to a 2-2 tie with Evergreen Tuesday night.

The Indians (0-3-1, 0-3-1) got their first two goals of the season against Evergreen and face Foster next.

Liberty 2, Juanita 0

Liberty stayed perfect in league play by beating Juanita 2-0 Tuesday.

The Patriots (5-2, 5-0 KingCo 3A/2A) have allowed just two goals in five league games this season. Whitney Cain (Kailiana Johnson assist) and Cassidy Nangle (Kimi Fry) scored for Liberty. Macaire Ament and Jennifer Rucker earned the shutout.

Liberty has a two-game lead over Interlake and Juanita in the KingCo.
