Hazen, Lindbergh stay at top of Seamount; Renton gets first win | Baseball

The Hazen baseball team stayed perfect in league play with an 8-2 win against Tyee Friday.

The Highlanders (5-1 overall, 5-0 Seamount) are currently one game ahead of Lindbergh for the league lead.

Hazen scored in each of the first four innings and led 6-0 before Tyee got on the board with two fifth-inning runs.

Tony Nipert, Cody Moorhead, David Green and Eric Jacobs drove in runs for Hazen. Zac Kolterman hit a triple and scored twice.

Green earned the win on the mound. He started and threw three innings, allowing just a walk.

 

Renton 5, Foster 4

The Renton baseball team picked up its first win of the season, 5-4 against Foster Friday.

The Indians (1-4, 1-2) are now tied with Highline for fifth place in the Seamount.

P.J. Mattingly went 2-2 with three RBI. Oliver Billon pitched the complete game and struck out seven.

 

Lindbergh 11, Evergreen 0

The Lindbergh baseball team shut down Evergreen 11-0 Friday.

The Eagles (4-2, 4-1) won with steady offense and solid pitching. Lindbergh scored multiple runs in four different innings.

Niko Kis-Young went 4-4 with four runs and three RBI. Matt Stuart went 3-4 with two runs and two RBI. Billy Hernandez went 3-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Ryan White pitched five innings with three strikeouts and allowed just one hit for the Eagles.
