The Hazen boys basketball team took over first place in the Seamount with a 70-66 win against Kennedy Catholic Friday night.
The Highlanders (10-3 overall, 7-1 Seamount) trailed by two at the half before a 21-8 run in the third quarter. The Lancers made up some ground in the fourth, but Hazen held on.
Brandt Graybeal led Hazen with 19 points and 17 rebounds. Graybeal leads the league in rebounding, at 12.1 per game. R.J. Magar and Michael Dampier each scored 12.
Hazen lost a non-league game to Skyline Monday, 54-49.
Frankie Johnson led the way with 11 points. Magar and Dampier scored nine each.
Renton 57, Lindbergh 42
Renton controlled the game with defense and eventually beat Lindbergh 57-42 Friday.
The Indians (7-7, 5-3) stopped the hot Eagles (4-6, 4-4) by holding them to 42 points, the lowest since a season-opening loss to Archbishop Murphy.
Colton Hafey scored 15 to lead Renton. Justin Bennett and Darren Briggs each scored 12.
Jimmy Keum led Lindbergh with 15 points.
Mount Si 72, Liberty 50
A slow start doomed Liberty in a 72-50 loss to Mount Si Monday.
The Patriots (4-9, 2-6 2A/3A KingCo) scored just three points in the first quarter.
Chandler Jenkins scored 19 to lead Liberty. Jake Bainton scored 12 points.
