The Hazen boys soccer team picked up another win on Tuesday, this time at the expense of cross-town rivals Renton.
The Highlanders dominated the match, beating the Indians 8-0 at Renton Memorial Stadium.
Reyes Garcia, Ethan Kem and Jorman Gonzalez each had two goals apiece in the win. Abel Haro and Drew Wilson also added goals of their own.
Kem got things rolling in the 10th minute with an unassisted goal and the Highlanders never looked back. Wilson made it 2-0 in the 21st off an assist from Gonzalez. In the 26th minute, Haro took a pass from Nick Smith and put it in the back of the net.
In the 42nd minute, Gonzalez scored his first of the night off an assist from Gorav Singh. Reyes got his first in the 52nd off a pass from Wilson. Just two minutes later, Gonzales scored again, this one off an assist from Kem.
Garcia and Kem each added unassisted goals.
Goalie Jaime Martinez earned the shutout for the Highlanders.
Renton falls to 0-12-1 overall and 0-11 in the league. The Indians play at Evergreen on Friday and take on Foster at home on Tuesday.
Hazen is now 10-3-1 overall on the season and 9-1-1 in the Seamount League. The Highlanders take on league-leading Kennedy Catholic in the their final home match of the season Friday at Renton Memorial Stadium and play at Tyee on Tuesday.
