Hazen’s Zac Kolterman extends hitting streak to 16 games as Highlanders finish regular season strong | Baseball

Hazen outscored opponents 46-12 in three wins over the weekend.

The Highlanders (13-3, 12-2) are in second place in the Seamount with their regular season schedule complete.

On Friday Hazen beat Evergreen 13-1 in a five-inning game. David Green earned the win. Keith Carlson went 2-2. Travis Johnson went 2-3 with an RBI. Kyle Nelson and Zac Kolterman each had two-RBI singles.

Saturday, the team took on Kennedy Catholic and won a slugfest 19-11.

Jimmy Schmidt went 5-6 with a home run, three doubles and two RBI. Kolterman went 3-5 with a home run and six RBI. Nelson went 4-6 with two RBI. Johnson went 2-3 and drew three walks.

Kolterman earned the win with four innings in relief of Schmidt, who started.

Hazen also beat Foster 14-0 in a five-inning game Saturday.

Ryan Chodykin went 2-3 with a run and an RBI. Julian Li went 2-3 with an RBI triple. Nelson went 2-2 with two runs. Johnson and Beckman each went 2-3 with two runs and an RBI single.

Jake Kolterman pitched the complete game, allowing four hits and striking out 12 for the win.
