Liberty basketball teams split games against Eastside Catholic

Eastside Catholic ran into a brick wall in the Liberty girls basketball team. The Patriots held Eastside Catholic to just five first half points during a 53-13 win Monday night.

Liberty (7-1 overall, 2-0 KingCo) started slowly with a six-point first quarter but turned around quickly and scored 17 points in the second. Corinna Van Hurston led Liberty with 11 points. Katie Growden scored 10 and Alexis Court scored nine.

Kimmie Koehler led Eastside Catholic (0-6, 0-3 Metro) with eight points.

Eastside Catholic 67, Liberty 41

The Liberty boys basketball team couldn’t keep up with Eastside Catholic Monday night when the Patriots lost 67-41.

The Patriots (3-7, 0-3 KingCo) scored six points in the first quarter and trailed by 21 at the half. Eric Peterson scored 11 points to lead Liberty, while Turner Chatterton and Chandler Jenkins each scored nine.

Nile Kramer scored 15 to lead Eastside Catholic (2-4, 0-4 Metro).
