Liberty held down it’s home turf as both the boys and girls track and field teams won the Liberty Invitational April 10.
Eric Bice led the way for the boys with wins in three events. Bice took the 800 meter with a time of two minutes, 1.8 seconds. He won the 1,600 (4:34.2) and was part of the Patriots’ winning 4 X 400 team. The rest of the relay was Devin Benett, Joseph Bergman and Troy Solly.
Solly won the 110- and 300-meter hurdles events. Edging fellow Liberty senior Ian Vensel, who finished second in both.
Peter Stacy won javelin with a distance of 172 feet, eight inches, while placing second in discus and shot put.
Joshua Gordon won the high jump, at five feet, 10 inches. Bennett won the long jump (20 feet, 1.25 inches).
Liberty’s Elizabeth Ryker won the 100 with a time of 13.2 seconds. She was also part of Liberty’s winning 4 X 100 (Michaela Chucka, Stacy Christensen and Brittain Monroe), 4 X 200 (Delane Agnew, Madison Birdsall and Chucka) and 4 X 400 (Agnew, Birdsall and Chucka) teams.
Birdsall won the 400 (61.1 seconds), Monroe won the 200 (28.2 seconds) and Chucka won the 800 (2:36.8).
Christina Huff won the javelin with a distance of 110 feet, one inch.
