The Liberty boys track and field team finished second at the KingCo championship meet May 14. The Liberty girls team finished fourth.
The boys team scored 167 points, trailing just Bellevue with 189. The Patriots were well ahead of third-place Juanita (94 points). The girls scored 130 points, behind Bellevue in third (133.5).
Senior Eric Bice led Liberty with wins in the 800 and 1,600. Senior Troy Solly won the 300-meter hurdles and finished second in the 110.
The team of Solly, Bice, Devin Bennett and Joshua Gordon placed second in the 4×400 relay.
Senior Peter Stacy won the javelin and discus, while placing second in shot put. Gordon won the high and long jump. Hamilton Noel and Alex Faulkner tied at 11 feet to win the pole vault. Bennett won the triple jump.
Elizabeth Ryker finished second in the 400 and third in the 200. Madison Birdsall finished third in the 400. Freshman Megan Chucka placed second in the 800 and third in the 1,600. Emily Pestl-Dimmitt finished third in the 300 hurdles. Liberty’s team of Birdsall, Chucka, Ryker and Delane Agnew won the 4×200 and 4×400 relays.
Pestl-Dimmitt and Agnew tied for second in the high jump.
