Liberty girls finish ninth, Hazen boys 11th at 3A state meet | Cross country

The Hazen boys cross-country team placed 11th, while the Liberty girls team finished ninth at the 3A state cross-country meet Saturday.

Junior Conner Hall led the Highlanders with a finish in 49th. Daniel Karpman followed closely in 51st. Lloyd Bryan (86th), Guy Bailey (91st), Eric Miya (98th), Chase Onstot (107th) and Daniel Velasco (130th) also raced for Hazen.

Freshman Amy Broska finished 54th for Liberty in the girls race. Sophomore Megan Chucka finished 0.4 seconds later for 55th place.

Allie Wood (66th), Rachel Shaw (67th), Aimee Christensen (74th), Megan Larson (84th) and Michaela Chucka (106th) rounded out the Liberty team.

On the boys side for the Patriots, Tyler Westenbroek placed 57th and Scott Turner finished 67th.
