The Liberty girls track and field team won a KingCo 3A/2A championship May 13 at Juanita High School.
The Patriots scored 201 points, easily outpacing second-place Juanita, with 146.5 points. The boys team finished third, behind Bellevue and Mount Si.
Senior Madison Birdsall won the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.08 seconds. Freshman Megan Larson won the 800. Freshman Amy Broska won the 1,600, while sophomore teammate Megan Chucka took second. Broska also won the 3,200.
Liberty’s team of Elizabeth Ryker, Birdsall, Delane Agnew and Michaela Chucka won the 4 X 400 relay.
On the boys side, junior Josh Gordon and senior Devin Bennett led the way.
Gordon won the 200, high jump and long jump. Bennett won the 400 and triple jump. Both were part of the Patriots’ winning 4 X 400 relay.
Hamilton Noel and Chase Kenney took first and second in the pole vault.
