Liberty loses to Seattle Prep, still alive for state | Girls basketball

The Liberty girls basketball team lost to Seattle Prep 58-38 in the Sea-King district tournament Tuesday. The Patriots (16-8) face Juanita (19-5) in a loser-out game Feb. 17 at Bellevue College at 8:15 p.m. Liberty went 1-1 against the Rebels in the regular season.

If Liberty wins that game, it will take on the winner of Bainbridge/Bellevue for a berth into the 3A state tournament.

Against Seattle Prep, the Patriots fell behind 17-6 after the first quarter and 35-17 at the half. Delane Agnew scored nine points to lead Liberty. Stephanie Yea added eight.
