Liberty, Renton, Hazen all win | Boys basketball roundup

The Liberty boys basketball team finished strong to beat Interlake 68-57 Friday. The Patriots (7-5 overall, 2-4 Seamount) outscored the Saints 46-29 in the second half, including a 25-16 run in the fourth quarter.

Robbie Thomas led Liberty with 23 points. Jordan West added 15 and Tynan Gilmore 12.

 

Evergreen 55, Lindbergh 47

A late Lindbergh run wasn’t enough as the Eagles lost to Evergreen 55-47 Friday.

Lindbergh (6-5, 3-3 Seamount) couldn’t find its offensive groove early and scored just 20 points through the first three quarters. That led to a 16-point lead for the Wolverines heading into the fourth quarter. Lindbergh outscored Evergreen 27-19 in the fourth.

Jimmy Keum led Lindbergh with 17 points. Alex Campbell led Evergreen with 25.

 

Renton 64, Foster 56

Renton held Foster in check Friday night and won 64-56.

The Indians (5-7, 3-3) opened an eight-point lead through three quarters and held on. Jonathan Patterson scored 17 to lead Renton. Lavelle Smith added 14.

Ablie Leigh led Foster with 22 points. Gabe Gutierrez added 10.

 

Hazen 62, Tyee 57

Hazen came out on top of Tyee 62-57 Friday in a back-and-forth game.

The Highlanders (6-6, 4-2) led by seven after the first quarter, were tied going into the half, trailed by four after the third quarter, and won by five.

Frankie Johnson scored 19 points for Hazen. Dawit Kasa added 15.

Anthony Summers scored 16 points for Tyee. Alex Rhodes added 15.
