The Liberty Patriots football team kept their state title hopes alive this past weekend with a 21-14 victory over the River Ridge Hawks in a state Liberty scored first with Austin Regis completing a 7-yard pass to Jake Wright for a 7-0 lead, but the Hawks responded before the end of the quarter to knot it a 7-7.
IN the second, Dulin Hayden picked up seven more for thre Patriots on a 13-yard rushing TD and the teams headed to the half with Liberty up 14-7.
IN the final frame, Cameron Spaeth took the ball 9 yards for a an insurance TD to seal the 21-14 win.
Liberty now plays Ellensburg at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zaepfel Stadium in Yakima. The winner will play for the state title.
