Liberty wins fifth straight to end regular season; KingCo tourney next | Baseball

The Liberty baseball team cruised past Sammamish 12-2 Thursday and locked up a berth into the KingCo tournament.

The Patriots (9-10 overall, 6-8 KingCo 3A/2A) dominated early, scoring nine runs in the first inning. Ben Wessel pitched four innings and allowed four hits with no runs for the win.

Ryan Maio went 2-2 with two runs, an RBI and a long home run to left field. Scott Zerda went 3-4 with an RBI.

Win the win, Liberty finishes the regular season in sixth place earned a berth into the KingCo tournament. The Patriots are hot at the right time, winning five straight games.
