The Lindbergh boys and girls track teams finished undefeated dual-meet seasons and grabbed Seamount championships by winning the Renton All-City meet May 4.
The boys team beat Renton 108-38 and Hazen 103-46. Hazen topped Renton 85-61. On the girls side, Lindbergh beat Renton 100.5-49.5 and Hazen 104-44. Renton beat Hazen 86-49.
Lindbergh senior Travis Downen won the 1,600 and took second in the 3,200. Downen has the state’s best 3,200 time and seventh-best 1,600 time.
Renton senior Immanuel Carter won the 200, 400 and long jump. Other Renton winners on the boys side were Latrell Knox in the 100, Adriel Paine IV in the 800, and Micah Prescott in the shot put.
Lindbergh’s Mark Garcia won the 3,200. Calebse Cange won the 110-meter hurdles and the 300 hurdles. Lindbergh’s team of Luke Cruz, Cange, Joe Simpson and Aaron Arzaga won the 4 X 100 relay. Arzaga, Austin Franklin, Mitchell Hughey and Evan Lamb won the 4 X 400 relay.
Lindbergh’s Trevonn Russell won the discus. Other Lindbergh winners on the boys side were Tanner Zornes in the high jump, Omelyan Strembitskyy in the pole vault and Jacob Regge in the triple jump.
Hazen’s Chase Cottrill won the javelin.
Lindbergh junior Janayla Scott continued her excellent season with wins in the 100-meter dash, long jump and triple jump. Scott has won first in all three events in every meet she has entered this season. Scott is ninth in the 100, third in the long jump and first in the triple jump among Washington 2A performances.
Lindbergh senior Sarah Reiter won the 800 and 1,600. Reiter is 10th in the state in the 1,600 and eighth in the 3,200. Other Lindbergh winners on the girls side were Jasmine Fallgreen in the 3,200, Aleisha Simpson in the discus, and Kaitlin Zinsli in the pole vault.
Tianna Banfro, Monique Smith, Mercedes Tischer and Thuong Nguyen won the 4 X 400 relay for Lindbergh.
Renton freshman Savannah Smith won the 200 and the 400. Smith, Jazzlynn Joshua, Simone Robinson and Shelly Sauls won the 4 X 200 relay. Tala Hild won the high jump.
Hazen senior Sarah Schoville won the 100-meter hurdles and the 300 hurdles. The Highlanders’ team of Chelsea Delgado, Airashay Rogers, Schoville and Gabby Brower won the 4 X 100 relay. Other Hazen winners on the girls side were Airashay Rogers in the shot put and Cameron Devereux in the javelin.
