The Lindbergh Eagles this weekend picked up their first win in their new league, topping the White River Hornets 30-14 at White River High School in Buckley.
The Eagles went out fast, reportedly picking up two touchdown runs in the first quarter from Johsiah Serquinia, both for 3 yards. In between the touchdowns, Josh Bass picked up a safety for the Eagles, who were ahead 16-0 when the quarter ended.
Anthony Walker added a 38-yard touchdown run in the second and Lindbergh headed to the locker rooms ahead 23-0 at the half.
White River opened the second half scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run, but Lindbergh responded with a 29-yard touchdown pass from Sam Nehren to James Duncan to re-extend the lead to 30-8.
White River added another touchdown in the third, but Lindbergh’s defense held on for the 30-14 win.
The Eagles are now 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the South Puget Sound League. They play at Franklin Pierce on Friday.
