The Lindbergh boys swim team opened league competition with a bang, beating Highline 123-58 and swimming 16 postseason-qualifying times.
The Eagles, at 2A this year, swam 15 district-qualifying times and one state time at the meet.
Junior Andrew Franco-Munoz won the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.98 seconds, which qualified him for state. Franco also won the 100 freestyle.
A.J. Lim took first in the 200 individual medley and was part of the winning 400-free and 200-medley relays. Sophomore Aaron Jacobsen won the 50 free.
With 25 athletes on the team, this is the biggest team coach Roger Miron has had in his 16 years. The Eagles have 16 new swimmers and just two returning seniors from last year’s team.
