In a battle of man versus machine, Lindbergh basketball standout Jimmy Keum will take on Air Ball, the Lindbergh robotics team’s robot.
The contest is set for April 6 at 1:30 p.m. at an assembly at Lindbergh. Keum and Air Ball will battle in a series of basketball challenges, including Keum shooting with his eyes closed and Air Ball shooting without any human control.
Keum led the Eagles to the 2A state quarterfinals earlier this year. He led the team in points (19.3), rebounds (5.8), steals (2.3) and assists (3.1) per game.
Air Ball recently placed ninth out of 44 robots at the qualification rounds of the FIRST Robotics Seattle Olympic Regionals.
The event doubles as a fundraiser for the robotics team.
