Lindbergh falls to Bonney Lake
The Lindbergh girls soccer team lost to Bonney Lake 4-3 Wednesday night in a subdistrict game.
The Eagles will still advance to the district tournament with the fourth seed out of the Seamount/SPSL. Lindbergh plays North Kitsap today (Saturday) at 1 p.m. at Highline Stadium. If the Eagles win, they advance to the 3A state tournament.
North Kitsap is the third seed out of the Olympic/Western Cascade subdistrict tournament.
Liberty’s season ends in KingCo tournament
The Liberty girls soccer team fell to Sammamish 2-0 Tuesday night in the first round of the KingCo tournament.
The teams played a defensive battle early in the game until Dani Blanchard got an assist from Anna Geldenhuys and nailed a goal for Sammamish in the 50th minute. Geldenhuys then hit her own goal in the 73rd minute, with Shannon Scott assisting. Each team totaled five shots on goal.
During the regular season, the two teams tied 1-1 in the first meeting and Liberty won the second game 3-0. The Patriots ended the regular season with a 9-4-3 overall record.
Sammamish moves on in the tournament and was to play Bellevue Thursday.
Seamount all-league teams selected
After an successful season, the Renton volleyball team placed four members on the Seamount’s all-league teams. Sarah Nelson made the first team. Alexis Lagonoy and Boryana Atanasova each made the second team. Breann Benedictus made honorable mention.
Lindbergh’s Erin White made the second team. Kaylee Magat made honorable mention.
Hazen’s Alena Ross made the second team and Kat Jucker made honorable mention.
