Liberty 6, Mercer Island 2
After an early deficit, Liberty came back and beat Mercer Island 6-2 Friday.
The Patriots (10-3 overall, 10-1 KingCo 3A/2A) trailed 2-0 after the first inning, but Liberty ace John McLeod didn’t give up anything beyond that. Liberty tied the game in the third, then took the lead with a three-run fifth.
Troy Colyer went 2-4 with two runs, an RBI and two steals. Nick Hart went 2-4 with two runs, an RBI and a double. McLeod earned the win on the mound and went 2-3 with a run, two RBI’s and a double at the plate.
Hazen 11, Foster 2
Hazen quickly built a big lead on the way to an 11-2 win against Foster Friday.
The Highlanders (8-4, 6-3 Seamount) scored in each of the first four innings, with five runs coming in the fourth. Nick Sharp, David Green and John Wall all had RBI singles in the fourth inning.
Wall went 3-4 with two runs and three RBI’s. Jimmy Schmidt went 2-5 with a run an dan RBI. Travis Johnson had two RBI’s. Green went 3-4 with two runs and two RBI’s.
Zach Kolterman pitched four innings and earned the win for Hazen. He gave up two runs on two hits and struck out four.
Kennedy Catholic 12, Lindbergh 2
Lindbergh couldn’t complete the sweep of Kennedy Catholic and fell to the Lancers 12-2 Friday.
The Eagles (6-4, 5-4) trailed 8-1 after three innings. Nikko Kis-Young went 2-3. Tommy Kawamura went 1-2 with an RBI. Isaiah Williams went 1-2 with an RBI.
Renton 9, Tyee 8
Renton scored three runs in the seventh to beat Tyee 9-8 Friday.
It was the first win of the season for the Indians (1-9, 1-8). Renton trailed 6-7 heading into the seventh inning before scoring three times in the top of the inning. Tyee scored once in the bottom of the inning, but Renton held on for the win.
Oliver Billon went 2-2 with four runs. Donovan Saario went 1-2 with three runs.
