Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: My favorite class is my 5th period, IB Global Politics, because you learn a lot about the issues going around in other countries and they rely on one another.

Q: Name your Mount Rushmore (Top 4) of movies?

A: “Spiderman,” “Rush Hour,” “Lightning McQueen,” “Rio 2.”

Q: Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?

A: My mom. She has always shown me to fight for what I want because it’s not just going to be handed to me. She is a hard working mom, and besides her being busy, she always makes time to go to my games and support me.

Q: You’re on a long road trip, you stop at a gas station. You get one drink and one snack. What are you choosing?

A: Mango Arizona, Hot Fries.

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual.

A: I eat 2 hours before a game and I eat a banana on the ride to the field. As I’m in the car I try to have a good mindset and get myself to lock in. I want to have a good strong warmup because like they say, “you play how you practice.” 5 minutes before the game starts, I always talk to God to be on my side.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: “Love” by Keisha Cole.

From the sidelines: Sammy is an outstanding leader on the Renton soccer team. She is the scoring leader for our team so far this season and has added an assist as well. In addition, she consistently helps with demonstrations in our practices to show our younger players how to perform new skills. Sammy always gives full effort from start to finish in every game. Renton soccer is a better team with Sammy.
