The Renton Indians picked up their first postseason win of the year Wednesday with a 57-52 victory over the Sumner Spartans, but things did not go as well for the Lindbergh squad.

The Eagles on Wednesday found themselves on the losing end of a 61-53 matchup with Franklin Pierce.

Top seeded Renton, who were undefeated until their final regular season game, got all thy could handle from the upstart Spartan squad but were able to hang on.

The win means the Indians will move on to play the White River Hornets on Saturday at Lakes High School for the 2A league championship and the No. 1 seed headed into the district tournament.

The Hornets on Wednesday beat Steilacoom 48-37.

The Indians record is now 20-1. White River is 17-4 this season.

Meanwhile, Lindbergh’s loss means they will take on Foster at 8 p.m. Friday at Lakes High School. The winner of that game moves on to the district tournament as the sixth seed. Lindbergh is 11-10. Foster, who lost to Clover Park 47-31 Wednesday is 10-12.
