Renton guard Derek Lowe might be back with the Indians by the district playoffs, according to Renton coach Rick Comer.
Lowe suffered a broken arm and dislocated elbow when he was upended and fell to the court awkwardly in Renton’s Jan. 14 win against Foster.
The district tournament starts Feb. 26.
“Derek was trying to get the doctors to take the cast off a couple of days back,” Comer said.
Guard Achoki Moikobu has been a big reason the Indians (11-1 overall, 10-0 Seamount) have stayed atop the Seamount in Lowe’s absence. He’s averaging 16.6 points per game in the past four games, including the Jan. 14 game against Foster.
Forward Joseph Holifield is averaging 14.75 points per game over that same span and leads the Indians in scoring for the season at 13.3 points per game.
Renton plays Lindbergh tonight and has a rematch with Mount Rainier Friday night at Mount Rainier. The Indians edged the Rams 66-63 Monday.
