Liberty High School’s Jake Elfstrom, basketball, was selected as the Renton Reporter’s Male Athlete of the Week for Feb. 1.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: My favorite class is psychology because it really interests me because there are so many questions that I have to be answered in that class.
Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?
A: I enjoy fishing, hiking and hanging out with friends?
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: My dad — he has been in my corner since I can remember and has always held me accountable to shape me into the person I am today.
Q: Do you have a pre-game ritual or post-game tradition, and what is it?
A: Pre-game — two ball drills, Post-game — Azteca

“Jake Elfstrom, 6 foot-4 inch senior guard, scored 56 points in two games against top rival Kingco Conference teams — Bellevue and Lake Washington. He also grabbed 15 rebounds in the two games. A three-time all-Kingco Conference selection, he leads the conference in scoring averaging more 25 points per game.”
