Fox Sports contributor Peter Schrager recently answered pre-season questions on the AFC East and NFC West. One of the questions, or rather the answer, should be of particular interest to Seahawks fans.
Schrager calls out Seahawks’ rookie Aaron Curry as the rookie that will have the biggest impact in the NFC West this season. He compares Curry’s potential impact to previous rookie linebackers A.J. Hawk, DeMeco Ryans, Jon Beason, Patrick Willis, Jerod Mayo and Keith Rivers, all of which impressed in their first NFL season.
Schrager goes on to analyze Curry’s impact as a pass rusher, a role that he didn’t play much of in college at Wake Forest.
He ends the article with this lofty expectation for Curry:
“Aaron Curry’s the NFL’s next great defensive star.
And that’s from whatever spot he lines up at. Watch out for Aaron Curry in ’09.”
Schrager also addresses Walter Jones in a previous question, saying Jones has good football left in him.
