The NFL bloggers at ESPN put together a list of the 25 best players this decade. Two Seahawks (one current) made the cut: left tackle Walter Jones at No. 4 and running back Shaun Alexander at No. 18.
Jones seems like a no-brainer addition, here are the comments:
“Mike Holmgren called Jones the best offensive player he ever coached. That’s saying something.”
Though Alexander left under somewhat tempestuous conditions and divided Seattle fans, statistically speaking there is no denying he was one of the NFL’s best running backs in history. Here are the comments on Alexander:
“The only player in NFL history to score 15 touchdowns in five consecutive seasons. Averaged 1,501 yards rushing and 17.4 rushing touchdowns per season over a five-year period.”
