Key players:
Diondre Toms
Lindbergh DB/WR
Toms is a big hitter on defense and will get more touches on offense with the graduation of Frank Cange.
Jason Thompson
Kennedy Catholic QB
Thompson has a lot of experience and will try to lead the Lancers back from an uncharacteristically average year.
Matt Stuart
Lindbergh QB
Stuart has the size (6-foot-5) and experience (started most of 2009) to be a star this season. By the way, he’s just a sophomore.
Jordan Bumgarner
Hazen MLB/OL
Bumgarner leads a talented, yet thin Highlander group looking to make the playoffs for the second year in a row.
Zane Brown
Renton QB
Brown is a natural leader, he’s also Renton’s ASB president, and a dual-threat at quarterback. Renton’s effort to develop a passing game will work through him.
L.J. Jennings
Kennedy Catholic FB/LB
Jennings is one half of what will be a powerful rushing attack for a Seamount contender.
Aaron Rodriguez
Foster QB/S
Rodriguez is athletic and the Bulldogs have an interesting mix of players. With a shallow group of linemen, Foster’s offense will sink or swim depending on how Rodriguez can make plays.
2009 Standings:
Lindbergh (10-2)
Hazen (7-4)
Renton (6-4)
Kennedy Catholic (6-4)
Highline (3-6)
Foster (2-8)
Evergreen (1-8)
Projected 2010 Standings:
Lindbergh
Kennedy Catholic
Hazen
Renton
Foster
Highline
Evergreen
Big game:
Lindbergh at Kennedy Catholic, Oct. 15
Even though these two teams will now be heading to different playoffs, this game could determine the Seamount League title – something Kennedy was used to owning before the Eagles took it last year.
Big changes:
For playoff purposes, Kennedy Catholic, Hazen and Highline are 3A teams. Renton, Lindbergh, Foster and Highline are 2A.
