Liberty 1, Auburn Mountainview 0

The Liberty boys soccer team opened the season with two wins over the weekend.

The Patriots (2-0) topped Auburn Mountainview 1-0 Friday evening. Kevin Barretto scored the game’s only goal at 29 minutes. Dakota McKay and Mark Loreen assisted Barretto.

Alex Woehlbrandt completed the shutout for Liberty.

Liberty 2, Redmond 0

Liberty topped another non-league opponent, Redmond, 2-0 Saturday. Barretto scored an unassisted goal to get Liberty on the board 10 minutes into the game. Blake Kessler (assisted by Cody Sorteberg) gave the Patriots some insurance with another goal at 39 minutes.

Woehlbrandt again recorded the shutout.
