Hazen fell to Hanford 49-40 in the consolation bracket of the 3A state girls basketball tournament Thursday.
Airashay Rogers led Hazen with 22 points. The freshman scored all 14 of Hazen’s points in the third quarter to bring the Highlanders back from a five-point halftime deficit and give them a four-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Hanford outscored Hazen 20-7 in the final period to earn the win. Hanford will play Franklin in the next round of the consolation bracket.
Hazen finishes the season at 16-10.
