Lindbergh boys and girls win Seamount league cross-country meet
The Lindbergh boys and girls teams swept the Seamount League cross-country meet at Evergreen on Oct. 24.
Lindbergh freshman Sarah Reiter won the overall title for the girls, with a time of 20 minutes and 15 seconds. Anna Patti (fifth) and Jasmine Fallgreen (eighth) also finished in the top 10 for the Eagles.
Hazen sophomore Michelle Wnek placed third. May Lim (ninth) and Lindsey Strandberg (10th) placed in the top 10 for Hazen.
Senior Misa Yoshioka led Renton with a sixth-place finish.
Hazen and Renton followed in second and third for the girls.
Mount Rainier’s Michael Miller won the individual title for the boys race with a time of 16 minutes and one second. The Rams finished third as a team.
Lindbergh cruised to a league title with three of the top five runners and six of the top 10 runners overall. Trevor Thompson (second), Matt Miland (third), Joseph Patti (fourth), Nate Reitz (sixth), Nate Tandecki (eighth) and Thanh Nguyen (ninth) placed in the top 10 for the Eagles. Lindbergh’s final runner, C.J. Timm, wasn’t far behind, in 13th place.
Hazen edged Mount Rainier for second place, with senior Jeff Hinckley leading the way with a fifth-place finish. Freshman Conner Hall placed 10th for the Highlanders.
Renton placed sixth in the meet. Saugat Chhetri was the Indians’ top finisher, at 22nd.
