San Francisco Giants pitcher and Liberty graduate Tim Lincecum won the National League Cy Young Award Thursday.
It is the second Cy Young in a row for the 25-year-old. Lincecum led the National League with 261 strikeouts and went 15-7. He compiled an ERA of 2.48.
Lincecum received 11 first-place votes among the ballots by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.
