Track and field: Liberty boys beat Bellevue, girls fall by three points

The Liberty boys edged Bellevue for a 78.5-73.5 win Thursday. The Liberty girls fell to Bellevue 82-79.

Boys

Alex Leonard won the 200 and placed second in the 100. He was the only Liberty runner in the top six for the 100.

Bryce Merritt and Ryan Agnew placed second and third in the 800.

Eric Bice won the 800 and 1600. Devin Bennett placed third in the 800, while Josiah Sherwood placed fifth in the 1600.

Connor Mosely won the 3200 and was the only Liberty runner in the top six.

Troy Solly placed third for the Patriots in both hurdles events.

Liberty won the 4X400 relay.

Peter Stacy won the discus and javelin, and also placed second in the shot put. Alex Whitman placed third in shot put and fifth in discus. Charlie Kleiner placed third in javelin.

Joshua Gordon and Agnew took the top two spots in the high jump.

Riley Richmond and Kevin Tu placed second and third in the pole vault.

Chandler Jenkins won the long jump and placed second in the triple jump. Bennett won the triple jump and placed second in the long jump.

Girls

Kelsey Werre won the 100 and 200. Haile Erickson placed second in the 100, Aimee Christensen placed third in the 200.

Madison Birdsall won the 400. Kaily Davies placed second in the 1600 and 3200.

Emily Preti-Dimmitt won the 100 hurdles and placed third in the 300 hurdles. Alli Agnew placed second in the 300 hurdles.

Liberty won the 4X200 and 4X40 relays.

Christina Huff placed second in shot put. Alexis McGinnis placed second in discus. Huff won the javelin and Amanda Bard was runner-up.

Krista Lockhart and Hannah Robbins took first and second in the pole vault.
