The Hazen Post 19 beat Woodinville 22-11 in five innings by the mercery rule Wednesday in Legion Baseball action.

The Highlanders jumped out to an early lead with seven runs in the first inning. Julian Li, Owen Day, Jimmy Schmidt, Eric Jacobs and Jared Howell all had RBI hits in the inning.

Hazen scored twice more in the second inning on sacrifice flies by Day and Sam Cook.

The Highlanders scored four times in the third when Travis Johnson hit a grand slam. Hazen led 13-2 at that point.

Woodinville scored nine times in the bottom of the fourth to pull within 13-11.

Hazen pulled away again with nine runs the next inning on five walks and RBI hits by Howell, Shawn Kane, Patrick Ward and Jimmy Schmidt.

Johnson went 1-3 with two runs and four RBIs. Li, Schmidt, Jacobs and Ward all finished with three RBIs each.
