XC: Hazen makes noise at Curtis Invite; Renton runs too

The Hazen cross country boys varsity team tied for second at the Curtis Invite Saturday at Titlow Park in Tacoma.

The Highlanders scored 98 points, tying with Central Kitsap. The Renton boys placed seventh with 203 points.

Sophomore Conner Hall led the way with a 17th-place finish. He ran a time of 17 minutes, 27.96 seconds.

Nick Teal (18th place), Chris Melrose (20), Peter VanNuland (21), Kyle Gibbs (22), Chase Onstot (23) and Clay Strom (27) also ran varsity.

Saugat Chhetri led the Indians with a 31st-place finish.

Mary Grace Asirot led the Renton girls team and finished in 26th. The Indian girls team placed eighth.
