The Lindbergh cross-country team continued to make a name for itself regionally with a strong all-around performance at the Nike Pre-Nationals in Portland Saturday.
The competition had five different races levels for boys and girls, from most competitive down: Jim Danner Division, Division 1, Division 2, Junior-Senior, Frosh-Soph. Many of the West Coasts’ top teams competed at the race.
The Lindbergh boys varsity team ran in the Jim Danner Division and placed seventh — behind Auburn Riverside and Skyline of Washington.
Senior Trevor Thompson placed fifth overall, with a time of 15 minutes, 27.40 seconds. Nate Tandecki (41st place), Luke Garcia (47), Nate Reitz (48), Mark Garcia (72), C.J. Timm (93) and Thanh Nguyen (96) competed in the race.
The girls team competed in Division 1 and placed fourth overall behind just Skyline from Washington. Sarah Reiter placed third overall with a time of 19:06.10. Jasmine Fallgreen (12), Anna Patti (24), Erika Galindo (34), Mercedes Tischner (73), Elizabeth Hansen (75) and Brenna Fisher (79) competed in the race.
The Eagles boys JV team competed as a separate group in the Division 2 race and finished seventh. Nathan Haley led the way, finishing in 23rd place with a time of 17:11.45. Brett Love (45), Peter Kusz (65), James Truong (72), Ben Platt (73), Ryan White (94) and Eugene Pioquinto (120) competed in the race.
