Lindbergh’s Trevor Thompson currently has the state’s second-best 3A time in a 5,000 meter race, at 15 minutes, 22 seconds.
While it’s important to remember that cross country times can vary widely due to track conditions, track difficulty and more, Thompson is legitimately one of the state’s best runners.
He has wins at the Seamount Class Meet (won by 44 seconds), Mt. Baker Invite, Sundodger Invite (15 seconds) and Lindbergh’s Oct. 8 league meet.
Thompson has shaved quite a bit of time off of his best 5,000 mark from last year, which was 15:41.7. He finished 14th in the state meet last year, ninth his sophomore year and 23rd his freshman year.
