Trevor Thompson just keeps on running. The Lindbergh senior added another win to his total by taking the Sundodger Invitational Sept. 19 at Lincoln Park in Seattle.
Thompson finished first by 15 seconds ahead of Redmond’s Mack Young — the defending 4A state cross country champion. Thompson’s time of 15 minutes, 22 seconds set a new Lindbergh record.
The Eagles boys team won the invitational, edging out top-10 teams from both the 4A (Redmond) and 3A (Seattle Prep) ranks. And that was without varsity runner James Cornell (two-time state competitor).
Other Lindbergh boys varsity runners:
Nate Tandecki (seventh place), Nate Reitz (11th), Luke Garcia (12th), Mark Garcia (17th), C.J. Timm (20th), Thanh Nguyen (24th) and Nathan Haley (28th).
Girls
The Lindbergh girls team finished sixth out of eight teams. The Eagles were without top runner Sarah Reiter and their fourth, fifth and sixth runners were directed on a wrong turn (resulting in an extra kilometer).
Jasmine Fallgreen led the Eagles with an 11th-place finish and a time of 19:39.
